2016 North Coast Sections Track and Field Championship Meets  Saturday  May 21

Congratulations to the the Marin Catholic Boys Team for winning the Redwood Empire Meet.

Marin Girls won 4 events led by Ariel Dunbar of San Marin who won 3 events.

  • Ariel Dunbar of San Marin won the 100m Hurdles.
  • Ariel Dunbar of San Marin won the 300m Hurdles.
  • Gillian Wagner of Redwood won the 800m.
  • Ariel Dunbar of San Marin won the 200m.

Marin Boys won 5 events.

  • Marin Catholic placed 1st the 4 X 100m relay.
  • Max Glasser of Marin Catholic won the 400m Dash.
  • Mesgne Neghasi of Tam won the 800m. 
  • Max Herrerias of Novato won the 300m Hurdles
  • Jeremy Leary of Drake won the 3200m.
  • Marcus Narody of Marin Catholic won the Pole Vault.
  • Ryan Sacks of Tam won the Long Jump.

College Track Updates. Results added 5/26

American Athletic Conference   May 15 2016

Lilla McMillan (Tam) a senior at Tulane won the Womens 400m dash in 51.38. Lilla came back to place 1st in the Womens 200m in 23.00.

Big West Outdoor Track and Field Championships  May 14, 2016

Clayton Hutchins (Drake) a junior at Cal Poly placed 2nd in the Men’s 5000m with the time of 14:53.99.

Two Occidental College athletes, Sophomore Taylor Walton of Branson and freshman Brody Barkan of Drake competed in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Association Track and Field Championship.

• Taylor finished 2nd in the High Jump finals with a 6’5”.5 (top jump for the year – 6’6”)
• Brody Finished 4th in the 800 final with a 1:55.29 (top time for the year – 1:53.82)

“Even though I now live in Phoenix I still read your website to keep up with local running. So I thought it fitting to share with you additional results. Shown below are results from this past weekend’s Pac 12 Championships. You will note, in bolded print, that Redwood’s own Fred Huxham posted a superb 5,000 meter time of 13:44.39 to place a scoring 7th as a redshirt freshman on behalf of the University of Washington.

Saturday Results mcal 2016 – finals results

Tam is the Boys MCAL Champions and Redwood is the Girls MCAL Champion.

The Tam Boys finished the meet by just beating Drake in a close 4 X 400m relay. Tam won in 3:31.23 with Drake 2nd in 3:31.31.

The Branson Girls 4 X 400 team upset the favorites for the win in 4:12.22, winning the relay for the first time in Branson history. Left to right Ellie Packard, Olivia Weisel, Charlotte Oster and Grace Dailey.

2016 Sacramento Meet of Champions

Sacramento Meet of Champions         April 30, 2016

Thank you to Tony Giovannoni of Justin Sienna for sending in this addition to the results.

Justin Sienna’s Dena Prince’s set school records in the 100m Hurdles and the High Jump. She lowered her own record in the 100m hurdles to 15.33 to place 6th in the Girls Varsity 100m hurdles which should put her #10 on the MCAL All-Time List for the 100m hurdles. She then won the Girls Varsity high jump with a mark of 5’4” which broke the school record of 5’ 3” that her younger sister set in 2015. Dana will join 7 other jumpers tied for 4th place on the MCAL All-TIme List. (Tam’s coach Bob McLennon is the record keeper and will update the All-Time List at the end of the track season)

Max Glasser of Marin Catholic won the 400m Boys Varsity in a lifetime best of 49.34a. Max is the second-fastest sophomore in California this outdoor season. This time puts Max on the MCAL All-Time List at #8 (tie).

Hunter Juarez of Marin Catholic ran 11.08a to place 6th in the Men Invitational 100-meter dash.

Munir Kabbara of San Rafael placed 4th in the Boys 1600m Varsity running 4:26.47.

Grace Dailey of Branson placed 5th in the Girls 1600m Varsity with the time of 5:10.98.
