RANMARIN IS BACK

ranMarin is back for the remainder of the cross country season. Please pass this news on to other runners, coaches, parents and fans.

Longtime Drake coach Bill Taylor took at fall last week and had to have surgery on a fractured hip. Coach Taylor is doing well and will now start the rehab process but he will not be able to return to coaching at this time. I have been asked by Coach Taylor and Coach Robyn Berry to take charge of the Drake Girls’ team in his absence. I will be assisted by Drake parent Rich Miller. We wish Coach Taylor a speedy recovery.

Changes at ranMarin

ranMarin is a site for current and past Marin athletes. At this time we are looking for someone to assist with the site to provide season results for athletes, parents and fans. If you’re in high school, college, a parent, fan, etc. and are interested in gaining website experience or contributing to the site, please send an email to weranmarin@gmail.com.

ranMarin will continue to offer a summer training program each year!

ranMarin to Arch Rock

The ranMarin Summer Training group met today for the final run of the summer. The group started at the Point Reyes Visitor Center and ran out to Arch Rock. We missed the runners who could not come today. Everyone has been training well and the hard work is already paying off as the group was able to run comfortably at a good pace. We finished off the morning with a stop at Bovine Bakery, a group favorite! Good luck to everyone for a successful 2014 Cross Country Season!

The FALL STARTS NOW and ranMarin Summer runners are out on the trails putting in the miles in Marin, NYC, Oregon, Montana, CA Central Coast and AFRICA!!! The great thing about building a base for cross country is that it can be done anywhere and everywhere!!

2014 CIF STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Sat. Jun 7 Buchanon HS Clovis,CA

The Novato 4X100m Relay team of Jalen and Kadeem Hemphill, Brandon Randel and Christian Corbin placed 7th in 41.99.
Branson’s Julia Maxwell placed 6th in the Girls 3200m with the time of 10:24.50.
Redwood’s Fred Huxham placed 1st in the Boys 3200m with the time of 8:54.24.
Tam’s August Kiles placed 4th in the Boys Pole Vault clearing 16-00.00.

TRIAL RESULTS Friday June 6. Finals to be held on Saturday June 7

Novato’s Boys 4 X 100m Relay QUALIFIED for the finals The relay ran 41.78 to finish 2nd in the 3rd heat and 7th overall
Novato’s Jalen Hemphill finished 13th in the Boys 110m High Hurdles with the time of 14.44.
Branson’s Taylor Walton jumped 6-5.00 to place 10th in the Boys High Jump, just missing the final.
Tam’s August Kiles QUALIFIED for the finals of the Boys Pole Vault clearing 15-09.00.
Carissa Madsen was a NH in the Girls Pole Vault
