College Update

Roy Griak Invitational              Saturday Sept. 26, 2015        Minneapolis, MN

CAL’s John Lawson (Drake) placed 16th in the Mens Gold Race running 25:22 on the 8km course. John was CAL’s second runner and helped his team to place 3rd at the Roy Griak Invitational.

CALS’s Megan Bordes (Redwood) competed in the Women’s Gold Race to finish 31st in 22:26. Megan was CAL’s 3rd runner to help the team place 5th.

Womens 6km Race

Stanford’s Julia Maxwell (Branson) ran a PR to place 20th in 20:20. Julia was Stanford’s 5th scoring runner and she helped the Cardinals to place 3rd at the Washington Invitational. The race was won by Aisling Cuffe of Stanford in 19:41.

Mens 8km Race

Washington’s Fred Huxham (Redwood) placed 21st in 23:42. Fred was Washington’s 2nd man and helped his team to place 6th at the Washington Invitational. The race was won by Edward Cheserek of Oregon in 23:15.

Marin Harriers at Stanford Invitational Cross Country Race

COLLEGE RESULTS

Julia Maxwell (Branson) a sophomore at Stanford placed 11th out of 255 runners in the College Women’Race. Julia was Stanford’s 4th scoring runner to help the Stanford team place 1st at the Stanford Invitational.

MCAL CROSS COUNTRY DUAL MEETS START

The MCAL Cross Country Dual Meet Season kicked off this week with three separate races.  On Wednesday, Branson, Terra Linda, and Justin-Sienna raced at Tam.  On Thursday, San Marin and San Rafael raced at Redwood’s Tennessee Valley Course while Novato and Drake raced on  Marin Catholic’s Crown Road Course.

On Wednesday, Grace Dailey of Branson won the girl’s race while Neil Johnson of Tam won the boys’ race.

On Thursday at Crown Road, Jeremy Leary of Drake won the boys’ race while Tori Buckley of Novato won the girls’ race.

Down on Redwood’s Tennessee Valley course, Andy Ehrenberg of Redwood won the boy’s race while Gillian Wagner of Redwood won the girls.

Ran Marin Alumni Show Up

The ranmarin summer program had some distinguished alumni join them for a run. In the photo above left to right. (Thank you to Rob Flatland for the photo)

  • Angela Seeger (Branson) will be a senior at a high school in NYC. As a junior she ran cross country and indoor/ outdoor track.
  • Anna Harleen  (Branson) will be a sophomore at Williams College. Anna had a successful freshman year competing in cross country and indoor/outdoor track.
  • Michael Petruzzelli graduated from Branson and will attend the University of Chicago in the fall. Michael competed in cross country and track and continues to support ranmarin.
  • Julia Maxwell (Branson) will be a sophomore at Stanford University. Julia had some bright moments as a freshman but she also had to battle injuries along the way. She competed in cross country and indoor/outdoor track.
