Olson Makes History

The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on March 14-15 at the Albuquerque (N.M.) Convention Center. Stanford’s Erik Olson (Novato) has qualified in two events.  Erik is the 4th seed in the Men 3000m with the time of 7:50.81 and the 8th seed in the Men 5000m with the time of 13:42.52. These two times are the fastest times run by a Marin collegiate runner. Richie Boulet of Drake/CAL held the fastest 3000m and 5000m times by a former MCAL athlete.

In 1995 Richie Boulet of Drake/CAL competed in the NCAA Indoor Championships and placed 2nd in the 3000m in 8:06.92. At CAL his PR in the 3000m was 7:56.00 from his 1995 Indoor season which places him at #3 on the CAL All-Time Top Performers List. Richie is #7 on the All Time list in the Outdoor 5000m with the time of 13:49.47 from 1997.

Erik is #4 on the Stanford All Time Indoor List in the 3000m and #6 on the All Time Indoor list in the 5000m.
